After being released from jail, Tommy Vercetti left Liberty City for Vice City, a city overrun by the mob. Now, Tommy is out to make Vice City his home. Traditionally, "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" is a 'guy' game. As a sixteen-year-old girl, even I liked it! The game was somewhat hard to play at first, yet, ultimately, I come home every day from school just to play this!With many other games, you can get real bored, real fast. The game has a "Miami Vice"-like plot and theme, not to mention, the '80s music is great! I'll never abandon this game, the best game ever! I have no complaints. Grand Theft Auto Vice City is a prime example of how to make a video-game an almost cinematic experience. Let me explain why.<br/><br/>Firstly there is the city it's self. It's beautiful. Especially when the player is able to acquire a helicopter of some description. The neon lights glow brilliantly after dark.<br/><br/>Then there is the people inhabiting the island. Whilst face models are repeated on different people as often as Joe Pasquale jokes and stupid similies, and are brought to life using a very much dated model engine, main characters are sculpted brilliantly. Each main character (from the Love Fist band members to the players character), is instantly recognisable from the moment they are introduced (be this via Mercedes introduction in the first 'mission' or a phone call through your brutally obtained cell phone).<br/><br/>The acting for these characters is also done brilliantly, from the charming Ray Liotta (as Tommy Vercetti-the players character), to the obnoxious Gary Busey (as Phil Cassidey-a gun-slinging, madman). They all seem to bring to something to the whole package. And the actual cast makes any Hollywood blockbuster seem cast from the actors of Shark Attack 3:Megaladon.<br/><br/>Unfortunately, it is flawed, but only because of it's own success and sequels. For example the frustrating inability to swim, meaning the contact with any water over the height of Mr Vercetti immediately sends your health bar level plummeting towards the inevitable 0. Also the suicidal jumps the pedestrians make in front of your vehicle. As this is considered murder, this of course has the police attempting to arrest you, and if they are successful, confiscate your weapons and take a $100 bribe.<br/><br/>But minor flaws have still failed to stop me giving this 10/10. Why? Well let me explain with a simple statistic. This game has been available for purchase since in 2002, i bought it in 2003(if i recall correctly). The game is still installed on my PC, and still gets the frequent visits of when i first started playing.<br/><br/>If you haven't played it yet, PLEASE, forget San Andreas, seek this one out.
